Key principles, purpose, structure, relevance and global processes of clinical research in advancing patient care.

10.45 – 11.15h: Turning Lab Discoveries into Testable Clinical Hypotheses

Design of early-stage clinical research; description of what academic researchers need to know before starting a clinical study; highlighting successful case studies: from lab findings to clinical trials.

11.15h – 12h: Round Table Discussion with Public Participation: Opportunities and Challenges in Translational Research

Academic researcher with experience on translational research; industry representative; clinical researcher; NCP; patient representative.

Identification of common barriers and how to overcome them; discussion of the main opportunities.
