Ali Mobasheri is Professor of Musculoskeletal Biology in the Research Unit of Health Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, Finland. He also serves as Chief Researcher and International Adviser at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine, Vilnius, Lithuania. He was President of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) from May 2019 until April 2022. He currently sits on the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO). He is also an advisor to the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Epidemiology of Musculoskeletal Conditions and Ageing, Université de Liège, Liège, Belgium. His research focuses on cartilage biology and osteoarthritis biomarkers. He has published more 450 scientific articles and has an h-index of 80 (Scopus).

Cátia Gonçalves, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at EpiDoC Unit, Comprehensive Health Research Centre (CHRC), at NOVA Medical School. Her research focuses on the development of digital tools for disease monitoring in individuals living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. Prior to this role, she served as Study Coordinator at the Portuguese Society of Rheumatology, where she supported clinical research initiatives using data from the National Registry of Rheumatic Diseases (Reuma.pt). Cátia holds a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Manchester, where she investigated circadian rhythms in articular cartilage and their role in osteoarthritis. With a multidisciplinary background spanning basic science, clinical research, and data science, Cátia is dedicated to advancing digital health solutions that facilitate disease self-management and personalised care for individuals living with chronic noncommunicable diseases.
