Federico Carbone, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Genoa, Italy, and Consultant in Internal Medicine at IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, Genoa. He graduated in Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Genoa, before obtaining a PhD in cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic pathophysiology, with research training at the Division of Cardiology, University of Geneva. His clinical and research interests focus on cardiometabolic medicine, inflammation, obesity, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular risk. He is Deputy Editor of the European Journal of Clinical Investigation and has held several leadership roles within the European Society for Clinical Investigation, including Vice-President and Trust member. He is also involved in national and international grant review and scientific societies. Prof. Carbone has authored more than 240 peer-reviewed publications, with an H-index of 40 and over 5,700 citations.
