Cláudia Marques is a Professor of Nutrition and Metabolism at NOVA Medical School and a researcher at the Comprehensive Health Research Center. Her research focuses on the modulation of the gut microbiota and its relationship with obesity and metabolic diseases. She is also a co-founder of YourBiome, a spin-off from NOVA Medical School, whose mission is to ensure safe access to fecal microbiota transplantation.

João Magalhães is an Assistant Professor at FMH and an Invited Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. With a background in Sports Science and a PhD in Physical Activity and Health, he has contributed to over 60 peer-reviewed publications. His work examines how physical activity and sedentary patterns influence biomarkers throughout life, particularly in Type 2 Diabetes patients. Currently supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology, his research explores the impact of exercise timing on circadian health in diabetic populations.

Prof. Susann Weihrauch-Blüher (MS, PhD) is Senior Consultant for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology at the University Medicine of Halle, Germany.
Her clinical emphasis includes all aspects of Pediatric Endocrinology; her research focus comprises obesity, Metabolic Syndrome/prediabetes and T2D in childhood and adolescence with prevention strategies, treatment options and comorbidities.
She is Co-Investigator of the EU-funded project PAS GRAS (HORIZON HLTH-2022-STAYHLTH-01-05: De-Risking Metabolic, Environmental and Behavioral Determinants of Obesity in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults; 2023-2028) and also participated in the EU-funded project PreSTART (EU Tender/Public Health; 2014-2019): Prevention of Type2 Diabetes in adolescents aged 12 – 14 years).
Prof. Weihrauch-Blüher received her clinical and scientific training at the University Medicine of Leipzig, Germany; the East General Hospital of Toronoto, Canada; the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, as well as Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard University; Boston/US.
Since 2024, she is Vice President of the German Obesity Society (DAG). Between 2019 and 2024, she was the speaker oft he Working Group of Childhood Obesity (AGA) of the DAG.
