Statistical methods for epidemiological research: common pitfalls and mistakes
10:45 - 11:15Biography
I am an epidemiologist at the University of Bologna, working within the Public Health, Biostatistics, and Health Services Research Unit of the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences (DIBINEM). My research focuses on the evaluation of healthcare quality using administrative databases and disease registries. I provide support in study design, development of structured databases, and statistical analysis planning. I am involved in building advanced statistical models for clinical epidemiology, particularly related to clinical risk scores and diagnostic algorithms. I also study artificial intelligence techniques to the analysis of big data. In addition, I am actively engaged in research and teaching on vaccination strategies and the epidemiology of vaccine-preventable diseases.
