Speaker
Cso Beatriz Llamusí
Arthex biotech
IL15: Lipophilic conjugation of antimiR-23b to enhance muscle and brain delivery using IV administration
11:00 AM - 11:25 AMBiography
Dr. Llamusí co-founded Arthex in December 2019 and was CEO of the company until May 2023 when the company raised its Series B. Since then Dr. Llamusi is CSO of Arthex Biotech. During the initial steps of the project that led to Arthex foundation, she was granted different competitive acceleration programs (FIPS and Caixaimpulse) to assess the feasibility of the entrepreneurial project, including training in business management and development, IPP, financial and regulatory issues. She holds an MSc and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University Miguel Hernández. During her Ph.D. program, she focused on the molecular bases of neuronal regeneration, and subsequently worked in the Department of Genetics as a postdoctoral researcher. She has dedicated more than 13 years investigating the pathogenic mechanisms of rare neuromuscular diseases and approaches to treatment. During this period, she produced more than 30 scientific articles and ten patents.
Dr. Noriko Saito-Tarashima
Graduate School Of Pharmaceutical Science, Tokushima University
OP23: A P(V)–F Platform for Oligonucleotide Synthesis
11:25 AM - 11:40 AMBiography
Dr Noriko Saito-Tarashima received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Tokushima University in 2016. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tokushima University. Her research focuses on chemical approaches to oligonucleotide synthesis and nucleic acid therapeutics.
Mr. Wenyu Cheng
Nanjing University
OP24: Threose nucleic acid enzyme with enhanced gene silencing activity and programmability
11:40 AM - 11:55 AMBiography
Wenyu Cheng, a PhD candidate in Healthcare Engineering at Nanjing University (2022.9–2027.6, expected) who also completed a state-sponsored exchange training program in Chemistry at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy (2025.5–2025.9) , focuses his research on threose nucleic acid (TNA) as well as nanomedicine delivery. He previously earned his bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Materials Engineering from Sichuan University (2018.9–2022.6). He has co-authored a paper published in Molecules and holds a Chinese patent as the student first inventor for a TNA enzyme with RNA-cleaving activity, alongside a first-author manuscript under review regarding a highly active TNA enzyme for gene silencing. Additionally, his broader scientific contributions include co-authored publications in material science journals such as Applied Physics Letters and Progress in Natural Science: Materials International. Throughout his academic journey, he has received numerous honors and awards, notably winning a second prize for an oral presentation at a domestic conference , being recognized as an Outstanding Graduate Student and Outstanding Graduate Student Leader , and receiving the National Encouragement Scholarship and Outstanding Graduate award during his undergraduate studies.
