Processing of personal data by sponsors/exhibitors

Participant list

Where you have given your consent to be included in the participant list to be shared with the sponsors/exhibitors, the respective sponsor/exhibitor and IFA will act as joint data controllers for such processing. Where the sponsor/exhibitor thereafter processes your personal data to invite you for the scientific and social events around the Congress, it shall process your personal data as an independent controller for its own purposes. Your personal data will be deleted by the sponsor/exhibitor ultimately on 31 December 2026.

QR code feature on the Congress App

During the Congress, exhibitors may request to scan the QR code on your Congress App. In doing so, the personal data that is included in your public profile will be exported to the exhibitor, and you will receive a connection request from the exhibitor in the Congress App. When accepted, your email address will also be exported to the exhibitor. The exhibitor may use this information to contact you during or after the Congress. For the exportation of your personal data to an exhibitor through this QR code feature, the respective exhibitor and IFA act as joint data controllers. For the processing of your personal data after it has been exported through this QR code feature, the exhibitor acts as an independent controller for its own purposes.

By allowing an exhibitor to scan the QR code in your Congress App, you consent to the export of your personal data included in your public profile to the exhibitor. If you accept the exhibitor’s connection request, you also consent to the export of your email address. You can freely choose to decline the exhibitor’s request to scan your QR code. Exhibitors cannot scan your QR code without your explicit consent.
