Changing clinical perspectives on sex and healthcare disparities in ischemic heart disease
13:45 - 14:00Biography
Dr. Edina Cenko, MD, PhD, FESC, is a clinical cardiologist and researcher at the University of Bologna, where she also completed her MD and PhD. Her research focuses on ischemic heart disease, risk stratification, and sex and gender differences in cardiovascular outcomes. She has served as investigator in major international registries and research projects on acute and chronic coronary syndromes, prevention, epidemiology, and quality of care.
Her work has been published in leading journals, including The Lancet, European Heart Journal, JAMA Internal Medicine, and JACC. She is a CVCT-FT Fellow, reviewer for major journals, and recipient of multiple international awards recognizing excellence in cardiovascular research. Dr. Cenko holds key roles in international collaborations, including ISACS, the ESC-EuroHeart ACS/PCI Working Group, The Lancet Regional Health–Europe Commission on Cardiovascular Inequalities, and the Global Burden of Disease Network. She serves as Chairperson of the ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation
