Graduated from School of Dentistry and Graduate School of Dentistry, Kyushu Dental College, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan in 2001 (DDS) and be awarded PhD degree (Maxillofacial Surgery; Director, Chief & Mentor: Prof. Tetsu Takahashi) from Graduate School of Kyushu Dental College in 2005. He worked at The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Kyushu Dental College (2001-2005) and at The Division of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery of Kagawa Prefectural Central Hospital (2005-2012). He studied abroad for clinical fellowships (AO fellow and IBRA fellow) at The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, Germany (2006) and at The Department of CranioMaxilloFacial Surgery, University of Bern, Switzerland (2007). He is now employed by Shimane University Faculty of Medicine, Izumo, Shimane, Japan as a fulltime medical faculty (2012-present). He is currently Chair Professor and Director of The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2020-present), the Chief Surgeon of Maxillofacial Trauma Center. He has more than 250 scientific papers published, among them 180 published in international journals.

Dr. Abdel-Galil obtained his medical and dental Degrees from King’s College London & University of Khartoum followed by basic surgical & higher specialized training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK. He completed his residency and interface fellowship training in Yorkshire, UK, followed by further subspecialty training in the USA, where he gained comprehensive experience in maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, facial reconstruction, and aesthetic techniques. Dr. Abdel-Galil has held several prestigious consultant positions at leading medical institutions, including Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust in the UK as well as SEHA Tawam Hospital/Sheikh Tahnoon Medical City in the UAE. He is actively involved with AO as an educator and contributor to international maxillofacial surgical advancements and research. Dr. Abdel-Galil also plays a key role in the Arab Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, where he contributes to the development of training programs and the certification of future specialists in the field.
